On the day the Paramount opened in March 1928, The Seattle Times breathlessly described the venue as "an acre of seats in a palace of splendor." Years and years on, the words still ring true. Through many management changes and periods of financial hardship, the Paramount has held on to its elegance and glamour, hosting Broadway shows, feature films and dignified concerts. However, it's not above getting down and dirty. The venue regularly strips out the main-floor seats making way for dancing to major rock and pop bands.
