In this strange era of "guerilla masquerade parties" and flash mobs, it's good to know that there's a centrally-located Seattle establishment that rents Martha Washington, Santa Claus, sequined Uncle Sam and "fat" Elvis costumes by the day.

Champion Party Supply is as good as its name. Here you'll find hundreds of nightly costume rentals for reasonable fees ($30-$70 on average), pre-packaged costumes for sale, masks, makeup and a wall of wigs in practically every color of the visible spectrum.

Champion's selection of party supplies isn't as extensive as you find at North Seattle's Display & Costume, but for last-minute events with limited planning time, it can't be beaten. Besides, you just try to name another store where you can shop for piñatas while trying on an Oompa-Loompa outfit for size.
