DESCRIPTION

Let us help you untangle the history of the “Trilogy of Awesome” on Second Avenue: First came Fancy, a jewelry boutique offering quirky art and customized jewelry. Next door was Schmancy, providing a diverse selection of collectible toys and gifts. The threesome was completed with Pants, a clothing boutique a few doors down. The proud shop owners dubbed their downtown establishments the “Trilogy of Awesome.”

In summer of 2006, the owner of Fancy and Pants, Sally Brock, combined her two shops. Shoppers could find Fancy’s whimsical jewelry and Pants’ signature cheeky lingerie under one roof. Two years on, Brock has re-envisioned and remodeled her boutique, dispensing with the drawers and bringing the focus back to jewelry, accessories and art. The store sells silver bracelets engraved with poems, necklaces with pendants that look like metallic chunks of Swiss cheese, rings with tiny photos pressed under the stone setting, timepieces, wallets, handbags and even stuffed monsters.

The story doesn’t end there. In 2006, artist Kate Greiner and her husband Aaron Murray opened another rhyming boutique on Second Avenue, Nancy. Their gallery and gift shop carries an eclectic collection of their creations as well as revolving works from other artists.
