DESCRIPTION
Elliott Bay is a general-purpose bike shop, but it also contains a full-service frame shop, and the bike-loving folks who work there can give you a custom paint job, restore your old clunker to working order or just fix a flat tire.

I had recently moved to Seattle and lost the faceplate to secure my handlebars. I brought my bike in and they replaced my handlebars immediately and charged $35 total. I was pleased. I came back, wanted my fork repaired, said I wanted something cheap, and had it ordered. I was phoned and came back a week later, but the fork was incompatible with my bike. I was phoned and came back again a week later, only to discover this $140 fork wasn't available from their supplier, so they had ordered a $100 rigid fork for me instead, without telling me. Two weeks prior I was quoted $50 for the fork and no labor cost was mentioned. I now was looking at a $130 bill. So today, on my sixth bike ride since my handlebars were repaired, my handlebars became so loose and wobbly that I was afraid they'd come off.
