A thrift store with shopping carts and professionally-lettered signage, Value Village stocks "quality re-sellable items" from clothing to shoes to books to toys. Unfortunately, this national chain takes the funkiness out of thrift shopping, which is, of course, its most enjoyable aspect. Nevertheless, you can unearth a good find at Value Village every now and again, and at Halloween, the store is a veritable treasure trove of costuming elements waiting to be assembled into a kitschy whole.
