DESCRIPTION

There are two rules here: It's got to be hip, and it's got to be cheap. The Powder Room specializes in up-to-the-second knockoffs and not a thing costs more than $50 - perfect for a teen budget or a lunchtime pick-me-up. Be warned however, that most of the items here are geared for trendy teen-age girls and their hip, slender mamas. "It's about the girl that wants to dress in designer clothing, but can't afford it," says owner Cindy Spear.

Clothing lines include Dollhouse, Private Circle, Rampage, and Hot Kiss. And since the clothes are so cheap, why not throw in a couple accessories, such as a pair of huge hoop earrings and a distressed fuchsia cowgirl hat? A line of shoes ranges from the cute (flowery chunky sandals) to the downright dangerous (spiky heel boots).

Tip: There's always a rack with 40 percent off or more.
