DESCRIPTION

Holding down the corner of Fourth and Union since '95, David Lawrence isn't what you'd expect from Rainier Square. Sure, it's high-profile fashion that'll win over the clothes-conscious tourist, but it's also got a lock on locals as the men's store for Wallpaper* looks and edgier designs. While house and hiNRG pulse from the speakers, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace and Armani hang beside Paul Smith, Versus and Roberto Cavalli with an unpretentious air.

From mesh tops to extravagant silk shirts and ties, traditional leather jackets to striking suits and luxurious knit layers, David Lawrence is a one-stop shop for men seeking "powerful" statements for the club world, beach life or business endeavor.

Though the store stakes a claim as the exclusive carrier of various top-end labels in the region, they also stock a selection of designer jeans, belts and other accessories common among the city's fashionable men's stores. David Lawrence isn't the place for the budget-minded, but if you run in this scene, then a couple of bills for a look that sets you apart shouldn't faze you.

Tip: To make your dollars stretch further or bypass the frustrating search for meter change, City Center ( Sixth between Union and Pike) offers the cheapest parking around.

This is a store that takes fashion to another level for locals. In Seattle they are cutting edge in L.A. perhaps a bit more commonplace. That's what people love about this store; it's not the run of the mill Nordy's classics. Jeff Collins, Professional Haberdasher @ www.MyHaberdasher.com
