DESCRIPTION

Two things make Twice Sold Tales unique among secondhand bookstores. One: the Capitol Hill branch stays open all night on Fridays, just because it can. Two: the "List of Annoying Questions," usually an open secret among retail employees, is posted above the register for all to see. Our advice to you: Don't bother haggling.

Not that you'll need to haggle. Storewide sales happen frequently, and there are always a few hundred books available for $2 or less. And Twice Sold's selection — from women's studies to queer lit, poetry to erotica, Bukowski to Murakami — is deep, well-organized and in terrific condition (finding a softcover book with a creased binding is a rare occurrence). You may walk out of Twice Sold Tales with a couple of books, but it's more likely you'll leave with a dozen.
