DESCRIPTION

Antique Liquidators has been run by the same family since 1970, and it shows: Neighbors stop in to say hi, and the Smith family has watched a generation of kids grow up and furnish their own homes. If you can remember it, it's probably here - old radios, dishes, fur hats, books and stacks of paintings and prints. Three floors hold a positively sumptuous array of furniture, mostly from Europe with a fair showing of Indian pieces. All the items come in a range of style and quality, and the selection can be downright dizzying, so take time to look closely and see if you're pawing an authentic piece or a reproduction. There's such an amalgamation of the old, new, and Lord-knows-what that the main floor nearly has a thrift-store feel to it, but the volume of high-end pieces thrown in the mix counters that.

Downstairs in the "bargain basement" there are oodles of fun finds such as funky couches, desks that need a little TLC and rugs that still have some life left in them.

Tip: There are signs plastered all over the place begging you to "ask for a discount." Do it. They like that.
