Laura Buzard's studio/shop Laura Bee Designs is a bit off the beaten path in Ballard, but worth seeking out. She offers accessories at reasonable prices and for special people, kisses from her adorable fat-bodied pug, Otis.

Chances are you'll see Buzard stitching up a handbag when you visit her cozy little shop. She designs one-of-a-kind and custom-made handbags, wallets, belts and hair accessories using vinyl, fabric, trims and vintage embellishments. She also carries local accessories and gifts including candles by Big Dipper Waxworks, Ex Libris Anonymous writing journals and Small Things rings and necklaces in sterling silver by Portland, Ore., designer Teresa Robinson.
