DESCRIPTION
Seattle's always been somewhat of a late bloomer when it comes to style (oh, please, don't start with the Grunge business) and didn't have anything close to a celebrity hair designer until 1976, when John Martin and Robert Leonard Salmons came from Chicago. They opened a small spa and drew in the Burberry crowd, and in the past 20 years the clientele has expanded to include every type of person. They also expanded their space to a 10,000-foot white marble palace with ceilings that rise as high as 40 feet. Here, rooms are dedicated to body and face treatments of all kind. A new facial, for example, kills bacteria with gentle currents of electricity. A thalossotherapy room is perfect for an underwater massage followed by a sea-salt scrub and algae rap. One area is dedicated to makeup, another for manicures and pedicures. Or, hey, if you just want a haircut, they've still got that too.
TIP: Don't let the fancy pedigree fool you. You can get a haircut for as little as $35 or as much as $100, depending on the stylist.
