Wedding rings are always symbolic — you know, the eternal circle and all — but at Goldmine, you can literally pour your heart into it. Custom jewelry makers Cindi Hansen and John Winters not only help people come up with designs, but they invite their customers to make a party with wine, music and friends and cast their own rings.

They work with customers to manifest whatever's important — one couple even had a jellyfish carved in relief — and then refine the patterns and design with the help of a computer, which is hooked up to a milling machine. If you can dream it, chances are, they can make it.

"We're constantly pushing the envelope about what's possible," Hansen says. You'd think all this would be way over the top, but it's not: 18k rings without stones go for $800 to $1,000; platinum for $1,700 to $2,000. TIP: If you have an old family stone that needs a new home, Hansen and Winters are perfectly happy to design a piece around that, too.
