Merchandise is made from renewable resources. It would be easy (given your financial resources) to furnish most of your house here. Start with the living areas in your home: The store carries all-natural and organic upholstered couches and chairs from a company in Bend, Ore. I loved the gorgeous cabinet by Copernican bamboo furniture in Ballard ($5,510). A sleek bench ($1,100) made from urban salvaged wood by local John Wells would look great in a mudroom or entryway. There are sustainable floor coverings made of bamboo and cork, cabinetry made by Neil Kelly of Oregon, plumbing fixtures, countertops, and clever bar stools made from post-industrial waste seat belt scraps ($350 each).

For bed and bath there are organic mattresses, bedding and linens including modern Loop bedding in autumn orange, sandstone and chocolate ($40 for a pair of pillow cases, $240 for a set of king sheets). Recycled glass dinnerware comes in pearly tones of green, orange and white ($28-$52). Organic bath products are sans synthetics and Caldrea cleaning products have essential oils and are biodegradable.

This is a great place for an introduction to green living and sustainable design assistance whether you're simply purchasing an iPod cover made of recycled materials or remodeling your kitchen. The store also hosts classes, seminars and films, all relating to a healthier environment.
