The tables lining the wall are all different lengths, giving the long, narrow space a curving flow. Plunging, twisting iron rods shape the custom-made chandelier and exterior gates. It is nonlinear. It is fluidly organic. It is “the Fiore Thing.”

Gentrification may be digging its immaculately manicured fingernails deep into Capitol Hill, but thankfully at least two rough-and-tumble institutions are evading its reach. The Cha Cha Lounge and Bimbo's Bitchin' Burrito Kitchen -- currently occupying a building that is scheduled to be demolished to make way for a condo development -- are moving to a new space at 1013 E. Pike St.
