Sometimes you just get the taste for something, you know? I mean, you love pretty much the entire menu at your favorite restaurant or bar, but every now and again you get a serious craving for a certain entrée, appetizer or cocktail, and nothing else can hope to compare. Our new feature What We Crave will introduce to you some of those sips and noshes, and probably fill you with the need to abandon all work and responsibility in pursuit of that one taste that can set the world right.

B.R. Guest restaurants, a partnership of Starwood Capital Group and restaurateur Stephen Hanson (whose Wikipedia entry, curiously enough, re-directs to that of Freddie Mercury), recently announced that their first West Coast restaurant, Ocean, will open in Seattle in 2009. Ocean will be the star dining establishment of the sustainability-minded 1 Hotel & Residences, now under construction at Second and Pike.

The previously online-only toy retailer Nico & Zoe has opened a showroom in West Seattle, allowing shoppers hands-on access to their collection of Barbie-free fun. The store specializes in artisan-made toys for children up to 6 years old, from wooden pull-toys to locally made sock monkeys.
