Rufus Wainwright's moist and buttery baritone isn't perfect, but it's within crooning distance of perfection. There's a prodigious talent concealed in the skinny frame of this swanky throwback -- a gift for interpretation that approximates that of the young Sinatra, a wit that could serve him well should he decide to get into the movies, and a fondness for show tunes that's -- kinda unbelievable, really.

One of my favorite Seattle bands plays the Tractor Wednesday evening, March 12. I recommend Pufferfish to anyone who loves Beck, Wilco and life in general.

For folks like me who are fed up with the headache of at-home bathing but don't want to fork over the extra cash to have someone else wash their dogs, there are a handful of quality self-serve washing spots around town. At some locations, cats (and even ferrets at one place) are also welcome. You bring the dirty pets and they provide the supplies -- and clean up the mess.
