Through June 1, Cortiva Institute of Seattle is offering 75-minute massages with
a handful of its recent graduates -- for just $50! The goal of the
promotion is to help the newly licensed massage therapists jump-start
their practices.

Recently, you may have heard phrases like these around town: "Come
celebrate the beautiful game" or "The world's game is coming to
Seattle." Both are slogans used by our city's new Major League Soccer
franchise, Seattle Sounders FC, on posters and other advertisements to promote the game of soccer -- the most popular sport in the world.

If your mom is anything like mine, she loves pretty-smelling things, like scented candles and aromatherapy diffusers, but never splurges on herself to buy them. While I wish she would pamper herself a little (heaven knows she deserves it), I'm happy to do it for her, so I'm always on the lookout for sweet-smelling luxury items. This year, just in time for Mother's Day, I've found two local purveyors of good scents to choose from.
