Big changes are afoot on the Seattle boutique scene. You may have already heard that Olivine in Ballard, that most cherished of local boutiques, is closing. After 10 years of fashion excellence, owner Julie Merriman Wray is shutting the doors Aug. 17 and moving on to her next project: Show Pony.

Little Kids, Big City
A new report out says that girls are performing as well as boys in math. Take that, Math-is-Hard Barbie. But if you'd like your kids to enjoy math (not measured nor mentioned in the article), Seattle has its own super-cool math store, Math ‘n' Stuff, in the Roosevelt neighborhood.
