End of the Line
Two thoughts occurred to me as I got off the number 66 bus. As soon as the coach arrived at the end of its downtown-to-Northgate express run -- the Northgate Park & Ride lot, located behind the stack of big-box stores that faces the Northgate Mall -- I thought, "Hey, this bus stops right behind the Target. I'm gonna need to remember that the next time I need cat litter/socks/utilitarian objects designed by Michael Graves."

End of the Line
Like an increasing number of locals, I rely primarily on Metro to get around, and that's what I'll be doing in this column. Every other week, I'll ride a different Metro bus route from the downtown core to its neighborhood terminus, at which point I'll hop out and do a bit of exploring. Ideally, I won't know exactly where the bus will take me; it'll be just like that Anthony Lane piece in The New Yorker, in which he boarded a plane without knowing where it would land.
