Buying an easily lost, spiffy new lunchbox a few times a year can get expensive, so if your child is in need of some affordable lunchbox magic, you should check out Japanese dollar-fifty store Daiso, on the lower level of Westlake Center, to find a wealth of cute and functional ways to send his meals to school.

The delicious Mediterranean food at Olive You is worth the trip to Greenwood, but families will be especially happy to head there on Mondays, when kids eat free with paying adults.

Up in Greenwood today, I happened into Twig, the new children's clothier that focuses on local and organic apparel. The cute little shop currently carries duds for the very shortest set: newborn to four years. By fall, owner Angela Johnson plans on adding items to size eight.

If you haven't already heard, your next chance to party hard with your kids is this Saturday, Feb. 23.
I'd been hearing about Baby Loves Disco, the family-oriented daytime dance party, for months before I finally checked it out in November. My friend and her son, who is three weeks older than Gub, were here from out of town, and we thought it would be a good urban activity for the kiddos.

The abundance of options when it comes to strollers is one of the most daunting aspects of preparing for a new baby. The varieties seem endless, so many families opt for the package that seems to offer it all: the travel system, which consists of a newborn car seat plus a stroller built to carry the car seat.
Alas, I know few parents who continue to use these behemoths once the child has arrived. So what should one consider when making this important -- and potentially expensive -- decision?
