I'm not a parent, a fan of antiques or particularly fond of having to don a wet suit in order to swim in the ocean.
So it's no surprise I've never been to the Oregon coast. That is, until I started talking with friends in Portland about the amazing microbrews, the fun of playing in the sand dunes and the fact that you can practically catch crabs with your bare hands (pretty sure that was an exaggeration).

I've never seen a whale in Washington. I hear they're everywhere in
March and April. In fact, it seems like we're so overrun with whales
around here you can throw a stick and hit one ... if you're not me.

Vancouver's clubs are as diverse as its residents. There's something
for everyone. They keep their lines long, though (even when they're
less than packed inside), so you need to choose your spots wisely. Our
intrepid writer went to 10 clubs -- five in historic, edgy Gastown and
five in chichi Yaletown -- so you won't waste your time in the wrong
queue.
