President William Taft could have stood under the same leafy tree that's still there today overlooking what's now the Burke-Gilman Trail. President Warren Harding could very well have inhaled the same view of Lake Washington from Husky Stadium albeit without the lakefront homes and rush-hour traffic. And President John Kennedy might have noted the same smells of sweat and sneakers while speaking at the University of Washington's Clarence S. "Hec" Edmundson Pavilion.
