Looking for unique yuletide, Seattle-style fun? Here's a holiday idea to ponder:

Captain your own Christmasy Holiday Cocoa Cruise on Lake Union with a group of your friends or family. The Electric Boat Co., anchored at the dock of Lake Union's Yale Street Landing, rents out a colorful fleet of electric Duffy boats that will be dressed to impress with holiday lights and décor.

"The boats are easy to drive so you don't need any boating experience, and they’re electric so they are very quiet and environmentally friendly," says director of operations and special events, Lyssa Thompson.

The 21-foot electric Duffy boats (which look like something straight out of Disneyland's Jungle Cruise ride) can hold up to 12 passengers, and have tables, handy cup holders, CD players, heaters and enclosed canopies that keep you warm, toasty and dry even in Seattle's rainy and chilly weather.

Enjoy catering from McCormick and Schmick's, with choices that include, among others, baked brie en croute with glazed walnuts, mini crab and bay shrimp cakes with Cajun remoulade, or chocolate mousse cups for dessert. There's cocoa, of course, or you can bring your own bottle of holiday cheer. This year there are also rumors of a jolly old visitor from the North.

Schedule: Holiday boat rentals are available Nov. 25 - Dec. 30 from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., with additional availability on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Price: For a two-hour rental, the price is $30 per person with an eight-person minimum per boat.

Discount: Each person who brings a new, unwrapped toy for Toys For Tots can receive $5 off their fee.
