Alas, spring is here. As you prepare yourself to begin rejuvenating your yard, you might want to consider some alternative methods of garden and lawn care. You could make a positive impact on the environment -- and save yourself some money, as well -- by participating in the Northwest Natural Yard Days. It's a great resource for the savvy and novice gardener alike.

Through May 15th, local nurseries will be hosting free classes to help you find solutions for pest control, unhealthy plants and weeds that can reduce the environmental impact of your yard. Retail partners will be supporting this King County program by offering discounts on a range of products from mulch mowers to slug bait and fertilizer.

Yard Days makes going natural a breeze. It may feel a bit awkward at first, but once you've become accustomed to natural gardening, you'll have a sense of pride about it.
