Hop on out of the way Flopsy, Mopsy and, you too, Cottontail, Easter ain't the exclusive domain of rabbits anymore. On Saturday, March 22, Seattle Dog Magazine will host an Easter egg hunt engineered for treat-loving pups. Magazine editor and publisher Tové Warmerdam explained to me how it works: On-leash dogs won't be snuffling under bushes after hidden chocolate or hardboiled ovals. Instead, they'll track down plastic eggs that can be redeemed for a treat of your/their choice.
And these aren't just any snacks. Featured yummies will come from local treat-makers including Simon and Huey, Blue Dog Bakery, Pudge and Pippins and Inu Treats. Canine Easter festivities at Marymoor will also include a dog fashion show and tasty treats for humans such as funnel cakes, hot dogs, ice cream and Philly steak sandwiches. And nothing says Easter like a Philly.
Details: Saturday, March 22, Marymoor Park, noon to 4 p.m., free. Two-legged kids are welcome too!
