February 13, 2008 Pioneer Square pubs and clubs
Tourists, college kids, sports enthusiasts, homeless people, book fiends, gallery goers and live music fans all crowd this ever-popular and historic district particularly on the weekends. There are a lot of bars and clubs in the Square, and a joint-cover at several establishments encourages bar-hopping.
PIONEER SQUARE JOINT COVER
$5 Sunday through Thursday
$10 Friday and Saturday Price includes entrance to all participating clubs:
Club Heaven
The former Catwalk has been reborn as a subterranean disco, where local and international DJs spin top 40, hip-hop, trance and underground beats.
Contour
What this smallish club lacks in size it more than compensates for in quality. You'll hear everything from reggae to house beats here, and Contour's after-hours events are terrific.
Cowgirls Inc.
Come here for hard liquor, loud classic rock, a 99.9 percent meat menu and girls in half-shirts flipping you the bird.
F.X. McRory's Steak, Chop & Oyster House
If the Mariners had an official team restaurant, this surf 'n' turf joint could be it.
Last Supper Club
With its two levels, three dance floors and endless parade of local and international DJ talent, this is a place for people who prefer not to leave a night of fun to chance.
Marcus' Martini Heaven
This swanky, standing-room-only joint serves deliciously strong (and very expensive!) drinks.
New Orleans Restaurant
Pole the pirogue down to New Orleans for nightly jazz and blues, Creole and Cajun menu favorites, and drink specialties like the Swampwater.
The Showbox SoDo
This 1,700-capacity annex to Seattle's best club-sized venue aims to continue and expand upon the good work of its parent.
Temple Billiards
This slightly surreal and multilevel pool hall is pretty great, especially when it's not too crowded. Eleven pool tables are spread throughout its rustic interior.
