Jan. 9, 2006 Singles spots
Looking to meet someone? Whether you seek Mr. or Ms. Right, or someone who's just right for tonight, you won't feel out of place at any of the following spots. They're regularly packed with others looking for the same thing.
TALK TO US
Alibi Room
(Downtown)
The place gets cramped as hell, but it's always fun, and even at its worst, it's only mildly Eurotrash-y. It's the coolest little bar the Market area has to offer.
Baltic Room
(Capitol Hill)
The décor here is swell and modern while the music is hip and melodic. There is a well-considered balance between open, meeting-people space and cozy getting-to-know-you corners.
Belltown Billiards
(Belltown)
Its partly hidden, half-underground entrance gives this upscale billiard hall and Italian bistro an exclusive feel that sticks with you until you actually walk inside and find the joint positively teeming with nightlife.
Del Rey
(Belltown)
Del Rey has all your wants and desires expertly covered: The bar is softly lit and inviting; the selection of scotches and tequilas is beyond respectable; and the sprawling menu includes prawn ceviche, grilled chicken, gooey mac 'n' cheese and more.
Jillian's
(Eastlake/Lake Union)
As much as we'd like to resist, we can't help but like a place where you can drink bourbon and play ping-pong at the same time.
Marcus' Martini Heaven
(Pioneer Square)
This swanky, standing-room-only joint serves deliciously strong (and very expensive!) drinks.
Neighbours
(Capitol Hill)
It's a big, old school gay bar where the music's an infectious throw-back to the '80s, the drinks are reasonable, the overall vibe very affable.
Red Door
(Fremont)
An interesting crowd of old-school bohemians and young urban professionals gathers at this fun and unpretentious pick-up bar to sip tasty brews and cruise. Even though it's hemmed in by Fremont office buildings, the patio area is exceptional.
Tini Bigs Lounge
(Queen Anne/Seattle Center)
"Seattle's second-best cocktail lounge" has a lot to offer -- an energetic yet mature vibe, a deep specialty drink menu and a selection of premium vodkas, rums and scotches that skims the divine.
Toi
(Downtown)
This Thai restaurant-slash-bar is ultra swank and filled with sharks, so watch your ass (everyone else will). Dress slutty, and have fun don't do anything we wouldn't do!
