My co-workers just might poke me in the eye with a stiletto heel if they hear me mention the "Sex and the City" movie one more time, but there are others in my life who get it. Take Kim Prohaska, account manager for Suzuki + Chou Communimedia.
"Okay, I have to admit that I'm wearing an obnoxiously pink dress in honor of today's 'Sex & the City' movie opening," wrote Kim in an e-mail I received this morning. "And I know I'm not the only gal in Sea-town looking forward to the movie's debut today. So, I wanted to share with you a quick guide to 'Sexing' it up in Seattle tonight as a consideration for posting on NWsource."
Of course, Kim is in the public relations biz, so it's her job to get people excited about local restaurants, shops and spas. But no one forced her to wear a pink dress, and for donning the girliest color of all, I salute her. Read on for her three-step program for celebrating tonight's premiere.
Step 1: Get glam
Swoon Boutique Spa, an urban spa on Capitol Hill, will offer "Sex and the City" Ladies' Night Out specials for the movie's premiere, on Friday, May 30 and throughout the weekend. Spa specials will include: Express facials ($30), manicures ($15), express pedicures ($30) and sugaring for eyebrows or underarms ($15).
Step 2: Gossip with the girls over Cosmos
Capitol Hill's hip, modern Boom Noodle is dedicating Friday, May 30 to the "Sex and the City" movie opening. From 4 p.m. to close, they will feature $4 cocktails made famous by the movie. Past episodes of SATC will be projected and they will run a simple SATC trivia game for prizes throughout the evening.
- Flirtini: Stoli raspberry, fresh raspberry puree, topped with champagne
- The SATC Cosmo -- Absolut, Cointreau, fresh lime and cranberry juice
- Absolute Hunk -- vanilla vodka, fresh lime juice, simple syrup and pineapple juice
Step 3 : Go see the movie!
Flag yourself a cab NYC-style and be the first to welcome back the ladies of "Sex and the City."
