Never on a Sunday: Play spaces for kids
Today, we found out that a new play space on Phinney Ridge opens this weekend. We're happy to hear that there's another option for parents who need to get out of the house with their little ones during the week (though it seems a bit pricey). But we're bummed to see that it isn't open on Sundays (except for special event bookings).
So, what's a parent to do with a restless toddler on a cold or rainy Sunday? The inexpensive community play centers are closed, classes like those at Gymboree, the Little Gym and Little Kickers aren't offered, which leaves only a handful of more expensive and crowded venues to visit.
So parents -- where do you go on Sundays when you need to get out of the house but don't want to deal with the larger attractions like the Zoo, Aquarium or Children's Museum?

Post a commentA few ideas: Top Ten Toys (train table), REI's treehouse, the covered outdoor play area at U Village, public swims at city pools, Environmental Learning Centers at Camp Long (W. Seattle) and Discovery Park (Magnolia).
Although the big attractions are generally quiet, if we get there right at opening or a little before. When the crowds descend around 11:30 or noon, we head home for a nap.
