Post a commentIf you're talking about growing edibles, I'd buy a couple books: The simple, local "Maritime Northwest Gardening Guide" put out by Seattle Tilth. Steve Solomon's "Growing Vegetables West of the Cascades" is also a good one.
City People's (on Madison) is full of knowledgeable people and everything you need to start and maintain your garden--plant starts, seeds, tools, compost, fertilizer, watering and irrigation supplies, etc.
There are some companies out there that will help you out, for a fee. Check out the Seattle Urban Farm Company:

Finally, I have my own blog which the blog of a beginning gardener in Seattle (with some tangents, of course). Not long ago, I was in your same shoes!

Good luck,

Thanks Matt!
I do not think growing your own goods is legal in this state.
sure it is, if you grow it for medicinal use. just don't smoke it in public
How about making of brownies? In India we don't have brownies.
Did you miss the Hempfest? plenty of brownies there
good muffins too
city people's is pricey. Lowes has cheaper compost, ect...
