Queen Anne's new Betty goes in search of itself

One of the Bettys at the table next to me is wearing patent-leather pumps in cherry red. Another Betty is wearing patent-leather pumps in Cadillac black. The third Betty wears her patent leather over her shoulder in a crimson handbag.

Who is Betty [0]? The owners of Queen Anne Hill's newest hot spot say she's anyone you want her to be. The Urban Dictionary [1] says that no matter who Betty is, she's a looker.

As the much-anticipated sister restaurant to Lower Queen Anne's wildly popular Crow [1] makes her debut, the waitstaff is fumbling around to figure her out as well. During the first week of operation, service was well intentioned but rather chaotic. Meanwhile chef/owners Craig Serbousek and Jesse Thomas are patiently waiting to see just who she turns out to be. Maybe to the hip crowd that trekked up the hill for her creative cocktails, rich country paté and steamed clam-and-chorizo appetizers, she'll be Bettie Page, sultry and seductive. Maybe to the hilltop parents who left the kids at home for the evening, her admirable wine list and buttery morel-stuffed chicken thighs will make her Archie Comics' Betty, the reliable girl next door who always knows how to cheer you up.

The hilltop newcomer doesn't do much to distinguish herself from her street-smart sister, but she's certainly riding on her reputation to turn a few heads.
