Wear something that sparkles on New Year's Eve

Even if your Jan. 1 to Dec. 30 wardrobe is decidedly conservative (is your black cocktail dress as festive as it gets?), style mavens will likely beg you to try something a little more daring on New Year's Eve.

After all, New Year's Eve is an occasion to pull out all the stops – feather boa, chandelier earrings, lace and all. That's why we like Karan Dannenberg Clothier [0] in Belltown. This boutique is jam-packed with sparkly outfits, glittery accessories and unique pieces to help you ring in 2007.

Several items caught our eye, in particular a jade-colored lace bustier by Gigi Clark. Though the price ($695) might drain your January (um, and February) budget, the matching statement-making three-strand beaded necklace ($75) won't. For another equally impressive look, Karan Dannenberg recommends an elegant ensemble, also by Gigi Clark. The bustier, in gold and black lace, pairs perfectly with a flamboyant shawl by Oksana Remi Couture ($630 for the pair).
