Decadent scents from Cake Beauty

If you've ever wanted to smell like a delicious dessert, the Canadian maker of scrubs, body washes and balms has a treat for you

I am something of a scent addict, keeping my shelves stocked with smell-good lotions and potions in a wide assortment of aromas, from lavender and sandalwood to jasmine and ylang-ylang.

But the aromas that continue to garner the most compliments are those of the sugar and vanilla variety. Basically, I could forego the beauty aisle altogether and just dab a bit of maple syrup on each wrist before heading out. But that might attract bugs or children, so I'll stick with the line that's currently my favorite: Cake Beauty [1].

These sweet-smelling scrubs, body washes, balms and lotions from Canada are scented with delectable variations of vanilla and brown sugar. Ballard supersalon Duque Salon + Spa + Boutique [1] stocks a good portion of the Cake Beauty line, including the prettily packaged Desserted Island gift set ($36), which includes body mousse and bath-and-shower froth.

And if you're heading to Duque for a piece of Cake, why not call ahead and book a private pedi party for you and a few of your girlfriends? The combination salon, spa and boutique has an upstairs nail salon. Sweet!
