Seattle jewelry maker Kimberly Baker [0] draws inspiration for her gold and silver designs from the life of her seafaring fiancé (a fisherman), and her new collection is no exception.
Bold, nautical-themed pieces swashbuckle the line between punk rock and pirate chic. The "Tamara" sailing-ship pendant hangs at the end of a chunky cable chain with a tusk clasp and comes in sterling silver ($215), silver with gold-vermeil rivets ($300), and 18-karat gold vermeil ($395).
The "Victoria" bracelet, a winged heart that could double as a medal of honor (or dishonor?) for Captain Jack Sparrow, has a flat beveled chain and a tough-girl aesthetic ($225 in silver, $400 in gold vermeil).
A pair of seahorses with an anchor on a cable chain, the "Sally" necklace ($415 gold, $230 silver) lends a treasures-of-the-deep aesthetic to a day on the yacht or a night at the sushi bar.
Baker's designs are available at her Fremont shop [0], online [1] and at boutiques around town, such as Olivine [1] and Sway and Cake [1].
