The shop itself has gorgeous hardwood floors, bead-board ceilings and energy-efficient lighting. It feels like a high-end shop that you might find in the Hamptons, but with moderate price tags. Threads can be found on the first floor of Bellevue Square, across the way from Pottery Barn Kids and next to Godiva Chocolates.
Designed by moms, the clothing at Threads is functional and fashionable, with an emphasis on easy on/easy off -- features that are essential for baby clothes. With a focus on quality fabrics like cotton-cashmere, organic cotton and a warm but still soft merino-cotton blend, Threads styles range from everyday to holiday. You'll find kimono wrap sweaters ($48), quilted barn coats ($42) and silk Christening gowns ($128), as well as a complete line of everyday essentials like onesies, leggings and T-shirts ($8-$28).
In addition to clothing, Threads offers perfectly coordinated gift items, nursery accessories, receiving blankets and towels, all ready to be wrapped up in a matching basket for your next baby shower. Most styles are in the store for at least nine months, making it easy to shop from a registry without any frustration.
In-store monogramming is available on many items. For an additional $6 per piece, you can have a name, initial or word embroidered on anything from a bib to a tissue-box cover.
