A few holiday deals we can't resist

Some days, it seems that we hear about more cool gift ideas and holiday happenings than we can possibly publish in the 12 days before Christmas. Here are a few of the holiday highlights to come our way this week.

Cheap (and really early) Bumbershoot tickets
Bumbershoot 2008 [1] takes place Aug. 30 through Sept. 1, but you can buy tickets for your favorite arts fan now. Bumbershoot is offering three-day passes for just $60 -- that's less than the cost of two single-day tickets. The catch? You must be a "BumberFan" to score the discounted tickets. Sign up at http://bumbershoot.org/bumberfan [2].

Free cupcakes at Cupcake Royale
Cupcake Royale [2] isn't content to rest on the laurels of its great little desserts. Now the local chain is adding gifts to its list of things done well. Choose from adorable "Baby Cake" onesies and beanies for babies, baseball-style logo tees for kids, "Legalize Frostitution" tops for women or Vérité Coffee mugs for your caffeine-addicted companions. Through the holidays, buy any of these products from the shop's Cool Gift List and get a free cupcake. We recommend one of the holiday flavors: gingerbread, candy cane or red velvet.

Holiday perks at Julep Nail Parlor
This season, Juelp Nail Parlor [2] near University Village is rewarding inner beauty with beauty treatments. Donate a pair of not-too-worn shoes, boots or gloves, which Julep will give to Dress for Success [3], and you'll score an upgrade certificate that lets you turn a classic service into a signature service. Or treat someone you love to a $100 gift certificate or $100 worth of Julep's pamper-ready, pre-wrapped gift sets, and you'll receive an additional $20 gift certificate for free.

A discounted spa service at Salish
You know those busy city sidewalks? You won't see a single one at the Spa at Salish Lodge [3]. What you will find is the spa's "Polish for the Holidays" treatment, which kicks off with a soak and massage for shopping-weary feet, followed by an orange- and clove-scented full-body exfoliation. Salish is offering the refreshing combo, a $108 value, for $88 (Monday through Thursday until Dec. 27). Say ahhhhhh.
