Hop on out of the way Flopsy, Mopsy and, you too, Cottontail, Easter ain't the exclusive domain of rabbits anymore. On Saturday, March 22,
Seattle Dog Magazine [1] will host an Easter egg hunt engineered for treat-loving pups. Magazine editor and publisher Tové Warmerdam explained to me how it works: On-leash dogs won't be snuffling under bushes after hidden chocolate or hardboiled ovals. Instead, they'll track down plastic eggs that can be redeemed for a treat of your/their choice.
And these aren't just any snacks. Featured yummies will come from local treat-makers including
Simon and Huey [2],
Blue Dog Bakery [3],
Pudge and Pippins [4] and
Inu Treats [5]. Canine Easter festivities at Marymoor will also include a dog fashion show and tasty treats for humans such as funnel cakes, hot dogs, ice cream and Philly steak sandwiches. And nothing says Easter like a Philly.
Details [5]: Saturday, March 22, Marymoor Park, noon to 4 p.m., free. Two-legged kids are welcome too!
