If you're a fan of chic shoe boutique Mu.Shoe [0], but not of the drive from Seattle to Edmonds, you'll be happy to learn that your trek just got a bit shorter -- about 6 miles, to be exact. Owner Susan Wilson opened her second Mu.Shoe store [0] in Kirkland late last month.

As North End residents well know -- and Eastside residents are now learning --Wilson fills her boutiques with upscale offerings, such as classic loafer detailing from Donald J. Pilner, gold patent-leather peep-toes from Terre Peck and vampy heels from Stuart Weitzman.

This spring, Wilson predicts that metallic and patent-leather footwear will continue to be popular and plans to stock colorful shoes in "gorgeous corals, reds, greens, yellows, blues and purples."

The bright and airy Kirkland location also features a thoughtful selection of handbags from Kooba, Botkier, Tracy Reese and Francesco Biasia, and jewelry from Sandra McManus, Fire Lily, Francesca and Brandy, and Potluck Paris.
