Last year when Danielle Luartes, owner of Tweed [0] in Greenwood, moved her shop to a larger location, she also added some plus-size lines to her inventory. It was a brilliant move, since many collections sold in local boutiques are designed for smaller bodies, and even the extra-larges are anything but large.

Now Luartes is expanding her toehold on the local plus-size market by hosting a C.enne.V [1] trunk show May 17 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Los Angeles label is a great fit for larger women who feel good about their bodies and want the rest of the world to know it. C.enne.V, which has garnered praise from celebrities like chanteuse Jill Scott and model Mia Tyler, uses vibrantly colored fabrics and patterns to create hip clothes that flatter bigger figures.

The '70s-influenced V-Neck Halter Maxi Dress ($109), which was recently featured on "The Today Show" in a kaleidoscope pattern, features an A-line cut and a form-flattering and supportive V-neck halter. Tweed is the only store in the nation that will carry the Maxi Dress in a chic black-and-white medallion print.

Flirty and versatile, the Rainbow Tunic ($69) has a forgiving empire waist and can be worn alone or over jeans. Certain to become a wardrobe staple, the Cropped Cardigan ($69) has been designed to define the waistline by accentuating the narrowest part of the body below the rib cage.

C.enne.V designers Shayna Parker and Cheyenne Valenzuela will be at Tweed to chat about the inspiration behind their line. Wine and snacks will be provided, as well as a special gift with any purchase as long as supplies last.
