Seattle artist Shannon Ritscher crafts pet collars with a conscience

By Brandie Ahlgren

Give an old belt a future. These cool dog and cat collars by Greenbelts are hand crafted by Seattle artist Shannon Ritscher using recycled leather belts. Many of the decorative bits are also recycled -- things like bottle caps, buttons and bits of scrap leather to create collars that are creative, funky, one-of-a-kind and good for the planet. Prices range from $25 to $45. Check out all of Shannon's designs at greenbelts.etsy.com [1]. There's lots of cool stuff for humans too!
