Trail description: The Redmond Watershed Trail in itself is a great run with gently rolling hills, well-maintained trail, directions at each intersection, and wildlife such as beaver, deer, and countless birds.

From the entrance to the Puget Power Trail at approximately the 2.3-mile point on the Sammamish River Trail, run up the switchbacks, and following the powerline, cross Avondale Road. There is one place where the trail jogs to the left along a road, but it is marked.

The Puget Power Trail currently ends at the north end of Farrel McWhirter Park, though there is talk of continuing the trail to the Redmond Watershed. There are bathrooms and water in the park.

From the Puget Power Trail, pick up the road to the Redmond Watershed at the northeast corner of Farrel McWhirter Park. Follow the road to the left until you reach 116th Street. Go uphill (east) on 116th until you reach 209th Avenue. Turn left on 209th and continue running until you see a sign announcing the Redmond Watershed. An entrance here puts you on Old Pond Trail. Go straight.

For the 5.5-mile outer loop of the Redmond Watershed, take a left onto Trillium Trail off of Old Pond Trail, then head east (right) on Pipeline Trail about 0.25 mile to Collin Creek Trail. Turn left. Go 0.5 mile on Collin Creek Trail to Siler's Mill Trail. Turn right and continue 1.35 miles, curving left onto Pipeline Regional Trail for 0.75 mile to a right onto Trillium Trail.

The main parking lot and toilet are on the left near this trail. This is a good starting point if you don't want to do the hills of the Puget Power Trail. To continue, follow Trillium Trail back to Old Pond, then onto 209th, and retrace your steps.

Directions: The Puget Power Trail starts approximately 2.3 miles north of Marymoor Park from the Sammamish River Trail. From SR 520 east of Interstate 405, take the West Lake Sammamish Parkway exit. Go south on West Lake Sammamish Parkway. There's a traffic light at the entrance to Marymoor Park. There are also parking lots along the Sammamish River Trail at the 1-mile point (behind Shari's Restaurant), at the 2.5-mile point (near Redmond Court House), and at the 116th Street soccer fields.
