The "mac" is penne pasta, the "cheese" is actually a blend of several cheeses, and the taste is stellar. Visiting Pike Place Market without stopping by Beecher's for a to-go container of mac 'n' cheese (and maybe a few nibbles of free "squeaky" cheese) is pretty much unforgivable.

That said, nearly all the restaurants listed below serve a terrific mac 'n' cheese. This was one of the most popular categories, which gives us hope that Seattle's many varied mac 'n' cheese plates can peacefully co-exist.
