If stitching, knitting and embroidering were international sports, Team Seattle would surely sew circles around every other city in the world. You hear that, Portland? It seems like everywhere you look -- on Metro buses, on park benches -- there's a stitchin' Seattleite, which is why Stitches' resounding win in this category doesn't surprise us that much. It is, so to speak, the eye of the needle. Not only is it the place to get your threads and yarns, and fabrics and needles, but it's a comfy place to hang out while working with them. Never again will you say, "Sew what?" Stitches will not only tell you what to sew, but how to sew it. The gold medal is as good as ours.
