Sights of the Sound: Zombie panic! (10/31/2005)

It's called "Zombiewalk Seattle," and so help me, the city ought to help finance it. With Seattle's many problems — gridlock, spiraling housing costs, weird strip-club laws — what we really need is a day to wander the streets as the undead do, enjoying the freedom that zombie-ism brings and maybe noshing on a few, you know, brrrrraaaaaainnnnssssss.

This impromptu and very unofficial flash mob-styled event in Fremont was one of three Zombiewalks. (Another one happened in Ballard, and there's one on Capitol Hill today, Oct. 31, at Cal Anderson Park at 3:45 p.m.) The zombies pictured are all volunteers; there are no paid, "professional" zombies. Isn't it nice to see the community coming together like this?
