Sweet Beauty serves up treats for your skin
Lisa Francoise's quirky Ravenna store deals in spa and beauty products made with chocolate

I have to admit, science usually bores me to tears. But I love the scientific studies that tell me chocolate and red wine are good for my health. So when Sweet Beauty founder Lisa Francoise told me chocolate was also good for my skin, I considered giving science a second chance.
With over a decade in the skin-care industry and almost as much time becoming a chocolate expert, Francoise figured out a way to combine her two passions brilliantly. "As I learned more and more about the health benefits of chocolate, I started to feel that chocolate was the ultimate beauty ingredient," she told me. This epiphany led to the creation of Sweet Beauty Organic Chocolate Spa Treatment, a line of sumptuous spa and beauty products created around one key ingredient - chocolate. Organic, fair-trade chocolate, to be more specific. The popular Crave lip balm ($5.50) marries cherry oil and chocolate for a supple, sundae-flavored smacker. Take the chocolate fixation a step further with Melt, a chocolate milk-bath product ($20) that provides the perfect soak.
And while the ingredients are natural and simple, keep in mind that Francoise is a skin-care expert, so I wouldn't recommend you run over to Dilettante and start smearing the dark stuff on your bod.
Sweet Beauty products are available online, at their retail location near University Village and at Theo Chocolate in Fremont.
