Beginning June 25, the Cascade neighborhood will have a farmers market to call its own. The market will convene Thursdays through Sept. 24 from 3 to 7 p.m., just east of the Cascade Park Playground on Pontius Avenue between Thomas and Harrison streets.

According to the Cascade Farmers Market Web site, the organization's mission is to:

  • Provide healthy, fresh food to the South Lake Union community.
  • Provide direct economic linkages between local farmers and the community.
  • Facilitate social connections and relationships in all sectors of the community.
Like other community markets, the Cascade Farmers Market will feature local farmers, buskers and craft vendors. For more information visit www.cascadefarmersmarket.org.
