Birth and Beyond is the resource where Seattle’s pregnant community can find help and resources on anything from baby carriers to breast feeding.

Now in its 15th year, Birth and Beyond recently moved from its original location down a few blocks on East Madison Street and also relocated Spoiled By Nana, its children’s formal wear shop from Issaquah right next door.

In 2008, owner Lyndsey Starkey opened Birth and Beyond Baby in Fremont and has recently decided to consolidate the Fremont store into the Madison Valley location.

The e-mail Starkey sent out to alert customers to the change had this to say by way of explanation:

“... On our block [along East Madison Street] are Seattle Naturopathy, an Acupuncture & Birth Center, SugarLump, a children's consignment store, Essential Baking Company and Bella Dolce, two locally run coffee and sandwich shops.”

”Since making all of these changes this year, we've noticed the potential that our neighborhood has in becoming a full support center for pregnant families and those with babies and young children too.”

Through December, Starkey is having a sale at her Fremont location, with up to 60 percent off Birth and Beyond Baby items, as well as items from the Madison location and clothing from Spoiled By Nana.

Shelving, racks and fixtures are also for sale.

This sale is happening at the Fremont location only, which is at North 36th Street and Evanston Avenue North, behind the Lenin Statue.

Sale hours are Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call 206-547-1993 for more information.
