How much have your shopping habits really changed this year?
By Alison Brownrigg

I’m wondering what it’s taken to get you shopping this holiday season?
Recent articles in the Seattle Times and P.I. describe the difficulties some businesses are experiencing this season and their strategies for promoting sales.
I’m sure you’ve noticed many holiday sales and markdowns the last few weeks – my email inbox is full of newsletters from local shops who are throwing parties or participating in neighborhood shopping events geared to get you through their doors.
Are strategies like sales, parties, events and perks working or have you bought less this year in response to the financial crunch?
