Once the weather clears, how about a day trip to Coupeville on Whidbey Island

I don’t know about you, but the recent snows have given me a mean case of cabin fever. Once the weather clears, I’m hoping to get the heck outta Dodge for at least a day. A reader recently sent me an email reminding me of Coupeville on Whidbey Island, which would make an ideal destination for a day trip.
There’s The Honeybear, a toy store that sells old fashioned toys and penny candy; The Kingfisher independent bookstore; Collections, a women's clothing and accesories boutique; Jan Macgregor fine pottery (her work is in the Smithsonian); other art galleries, a high-end kitchen store and The Oystercatcher Restaurant, which has been featured in Saveur and Sunset.
