Office cube looking a little bland? Having a hard time keeping track of what day it is? Want to help animals? I kid about the first two questions, but seriously... If you want to help animals while getting something for yourself, then a 2009 calendar from one of these local organizations is a great start.

Kick off the New Year with a good deed already under your belt by helping to raise money for animals!

Pasado's Safe Haven (pasadosafehaven.org). The Seattle Seahawks score a touchdown for animals with this calendar, helping to raise money for the homeless and injured animals at Pasado's Safe Haven.

PAWS (paws.org). Featuring the beautiful photography of renowned Seattle pet photographer Bev Sparks, the 2009 PAWS calendar highlights unique stories of companion animals. All proceeds benefit the homeless and injured animals at PAWS.

Homeward Pet Adoption Center (homewardpet.org). All proceeds benefit the homeless cats and dogs at HPAC, including spay/neuter programs, rehabilitation and special medical services.

Dugan Foundation (duganfoundation.org). All proceeds benefit the Dugan Foundation's mission to stop the killing of homeless companion animals through community outreach, spay/neuter clinics and an animal sanctuary.

CityDog and Reading With Rover (citydogseattle.com). Featuring the photography of Seattle pet photographer J. Nichole Smith, part of the proceeds from each calendar will benefit Reading With Rover, a children's literacy program that involves kids, dogs and reading!

Dress up your cube, keep track of what day it is and help animals all at the same time. Oh, and while you're at it, cross a few of your fellow animal lovers off your holiday shopping list!
